The album marks the first studio release for the band since 2016’s Pariah Brothers.
Cork-Tipperary blues rockers Crow Black Chicken have announced their upcoming fourth studio album Ghost Dance. It will be the band’s first studio release since 2016’s Pariah Brothers, following a nine-year hiatus from recording.
Helmed at GAF Studios in Tipperary, the album sees Crow Black Chicken continuing their thread of blues rock resplendence with a newfound maturity and depth.
The album’s first taster, ‘Bottom Feeders’ proves a signature hard-rock offering, setting the stage for an uncompromising blues rock album, true to the band’s essence and rooted in the genre’s classic touchstones.
“Ghost Dance is a really special album to us,” the band says. “It marks almost ten years from our last release - a decade spent rethinking, evolving, and focusing on the live end of things. It’s been a long road, but getting back into the studio and having the chance to work with Philip Magee again - who we worked with for our debut album - has all made it feel like the right time, almost full circle. We’re proud.”
Crow Black Chicken first graced listeners with their brand of blues rock on their debut album Electric Soup in 2012. The sophomore follow-up Rumble Shake debuted at No. 12 on the Irish Album Charts and cemented the band’s rising status in the Irish music scene. Recorded in the famous Westland Studios Dublin, the album was a compelling roots and blues affair, heavily influenced by the bands work with Texan Americana singer Ray Wylie Hubbard and legendary Austin Producer the late George Reiff.

2015 saw the release of the band’s first live album, Deep South, followed by a support slot for ZZ Top the following year. From there, a third studio album followed in 2016 with Pariah Brothers and another live album, South Roman Street in 2018.
Ghost Dance will be released on 13 June 2025.
