Coolio took over the world rap scene in the '90s through the immense success of Gangsta’s Paradise, which won a Grammy for Best Rap Performance. The single sold over six million copies and was Billboard Magazine’s number one single in 1995. The song was also featured on the Dangerous Minds soundtrack and is still considered one of the best rap songs of all time.

The rapper went on to win an American Music Award, three MTV awards, two Billboard Music Awards and a total of six Grammy nominations throughout the '90s.

In recent years, Coolio has maintained his rap artistry with successive studio albums, as well as appearances on TV and film.

Coolio joins a long list of international stars that have played Bulmers Live at Leopardstown in recent years, including Sister Sledge, Happy Mondays, Johnny Marr, The Human League and, most recently, The Waterboys.
