Chet Faker drops stage name and a new track
The Australian electronica singer and musician is getting rid of his stage name and reverting back to his real one. The news comes as Nick Murphy (nee Faker) releases a new track 'Fear Less'.
Last week, Muprhy posted on Facebook explained his name change saying: “It’s been half a decade since I started releasing music as Chet Faker and all of you have been the driving force behind the music since. theres an evolution happening and I wanted to let you know where its going. the next record will be under my own name, Nick Murphy. Chet Faker will always be a part of the music. This is next.”
'Fear Less' progresses from its tranquil openings to a climactic, pulsating finish and the track has a distinct Radiohead vibe, showing where the musicians influences lie. If this is any indication of where Murphy's evolution is taking him, it promises good things for the future.
