Changing of the seasons
Chills and thrills from Norwegian folkie
Nordic strummer Ane Brun has been toiling away for years. But her first real breakthrough came with her cover of Cyndi Lauper’s ‘True Colours’, featured prominently in a Sky TV commercial. Recorded in Stockholm with Valgeir Sigurdsson (Bjork, Cocorosie, Sigur Ros) her new album is spacious and beautiful – but with moments that may startle you. There’s a wintry sensibility here, which one is tempted to ascribe to her childhood in Norway’s frozen north. I suggest you wrap up, close your eyes and enjoy the epic musical vistas Brun has created.
Key Track: 'Ten Seconds'
