Chalk release thrilling new single ‘Afraid’
The new track is accompanied by a music video, check it out below.
Belfast post-punk/electronic group Chalk have released their brooding new single ‘Afraid’, alongside a music video, via Nice Swan Records. This is the second release from the band’s upcoming EP Conditions III, set to drop on February 21.
Talking about their latest EP reveal, which was produced by Chris Ryan and Ross Cullen, Chalk commented: “'Afraid' captures the raw fear and exhilaration of stepping into the unknown, a reminder that growth only happens when you leave your comfort zone. It’s a reflection on the strength it takes to move forward."
The upcoming EP fuses elements of heavy guitar music, electronica and breakbeat, recorded against the backdrop of Nordic vistas in northern Iceland.
The group are set to go on a tour across Ireland, the UK, and Europe (including a show at Whelan’s on April 12) this spring, following a tour support run with IDLES. As momentum grows for the band, their forthcoming EP ends the trilogy that launched their career, positioning them ahead of what promises to be a busy and exciting year.
Check out ‘Afraid’ below.
