BTS announce comeback live-stream and new documentary for Netflix
The concert will be the first time all seven members have appeared onstage together since 2022.
K-Pop group BTS will make their comeback debut with a live reunion show and documentary on Netflix.
The seven-member group will reunite onstage on March 21 for a show at Gwanghwamun, the main gate of the Gyeongbokgung palace in Seoul.
The concert will be live-streamed on Netflix at 11AM Irish time and comes on the tail of the announcement of BTS’s fifth studio album and stadium world tour.
Titled ARIRANG, the album is described as a “deeply reflective body of work that explores their identity and roots”.
Following the release of ARIRANG on March 21, BTS will embark on their sold-out world tour, which will see them play shows in Europe, North and South America, Asia and Australia, with more dates expected to be announced soon.
BTS have also announced their new documentary, BTS: The Return, which will be available on Netflix on March 27.
The documentary, directed by Bao Nguyen, will follow the making of ARIRANG and the challenges the group faced settling back into idol life after completing South Korea’s mandatory military service.
“Through moments of doubt, laughter and rediscovery”, as the band “create new music that reflects who they are now”, Netflix said.
“Intimate, emotional and often joyful, BTS: The Return is a story only BTS can tell: a portrait of resilience, brotherhood and reinvention.”
BTS, an acronym of Bangtan Sonyeondan or Beyond The Scene, debuted in 2013 with the track 'No More Dream' and were the first K-pop group to break the barriers into the American music scene.
BTS are best known for hits including 'Dynamite' – their first English-language single, which earned them their first Grammy nomination.
