Hot Press has partnered with Lyons Tea and Pieta House to broaden the conversation around mental health. In addition to our 'Now We're Talking' supplement, we have recorded a series of special videos on the theme. Our fourth video features indie-folk four-piece Brave Giant, performing their song 'Wizards and Witches'.
In the fourth video as part of the 'Now We're Talking' 2019 campaign, Brave Giant have offered up a unique rendition of their song 'Wizards and Witches'. They also talk to us about their experiences in relation to mental health.
"The great thing about Ireland at the moment is that it is changing," says bassist/vocalist Mark Prunty. "That whole stigma is being broken down for people to open up and talk about their feelings."
"We've a good few teachers here in the group, and I definitely see in my students that a lot of them are more willing to open up and talk about their feelings – which is great. We're definitely moving in the right direction."
The videos, shot by Hot Press, are part of the 'Now We're Talking' mental health campaign, being run in partnership with Lyons Tea and Pieta House – the suicide and self-harm crisis charity. The campaign aims to take the conversation around mental health in Ireland on to the next level. Lyons Tea is a major supporter of the work of Pieta House.
"The reality is that without businesses like Lyons Tea we wouldn't be opening our doors," Elaine Austin, CEO of Pieta House recently told Hot Press.
The video, featuring Brave Giant, is recorded at Outhouse Dublin, and is directed by Hot Press' Rowan Stokes, with additional filming by Indie Caldwell, Karen Kelleher and Miguel Ruiz. The interview was conducted by Lucy O'Toole.
