Body&Soul have outlined their measures to provide a greener festival this year
Body&Soul is always one of the most anticipated dates of Ireland’s festival season, due to its unique atmosphere and friendly set up. Another very important aspect of the festival that sets it apart from the rest is its commitment to the environment.
Body&Soul have announced a number of initiatives for this year’s festival to ensure that the beautiful grounds of Ballinlough remain unspoilt after the event’s conclusion. Amongst these is a scheme to reward festivalgoers who collect discarded cups with either cash or Body&Soul water bottles. The festival is placing an emphasis on avoiding waste plastic as much as they can.
One of the most unique measures they are taking is that attendees can also hand their old tents over to the Waste and Recycling depot, where they will be recycled to create sustainable clothing pieces by clothing company Attention Attire.
The Body&Soul team will also be handing out rewards to campers who engage in helping to keep the festival as sustainable as possible, such as traveling by carpool. Attendees can aslo choose to stay in the Us&You campsite, which is the site earmarked for those who commit to leaving no traces behind them upon leaving.
Further details of the Body&Soul sustainability project can be found here.
