BellX1 team up with Keane
BellX1 have scored something of a coup by landing the "special guest" slot on Keane's upcoming UK tour.
The cause of a huge A&R scrum last year in the UK, Keane went top 3 at the first time of asking with their 'Somewhere Only We Know' single, and will be expecting more of the same when its parent Hopes And Fears album is released on May 12.
With the tour kicking off in Portsmouth on April 22, the BellX1 boys have cancelled their appearance at this month's South By South West music festival in Austin, Texas.
"SxSW is a great gig and one they were really looking forward to doing, but you can't turn down a profile-booster like the Keane tour," says a spokesman who goes on to dismiss reports of apathy towards BellX1 in America.
"I don't know where they came from but they're totally wrong," he insists. "Damien Rice has asked them to open for him at the Beacon Theater in New York on May 3, and they're doing their own showcase the following night in the Mercury Lounge. There's a good buzz developing."
