Bear’s Den to support Amble in Dublin and Belfast
Tickets are on sale now.
Bear’s Den are set to support Amble on their Dublin and Belfast dates, set for Dublin's 3Arena on December 4, 11 and 12 and December 10 at SSE Belfast.
The news follows Bear's Den's Irish and UK tour with Ciaran Lavery, in support of their October EP Promiser. Read Hot Press' interview with the two here.
Last year, the band released re-imagined version of their 2014 track 'Above the Clouds of Pompeii' with Dermot Kennedy.
The tune originally featured on the 2014 album Islands, is certified Gold in the UK with over 100,000 copies sold.
"It's about a trip I took with my dad, when I was a kid, to Pompeii," said band member Andrew Davie.
"My dad's mum had just passed away and my parents were going through a divorce...it was a very sad time and I remember, as a young boy looking up to my dad and trying to make him happier, that was kinda the story of the song."
"Whilst it's a song with a lot of emotions for us as a band, hearing Dermot sing it, you get to listen to the song in a whole new way again and it's a really powerful feeling and that's the thing that's the most exciting about doing this to us, is getting to hear our song through the voice of Dermot but also through his perspective and his way of telling a story," he continued.
"I feel it's a beautifully poignant song about the idea of grief or loss or just yearning and it's one of my favourite songs of all time, and so to be here singing on it, it feels incredible to me," said Kennedy.
To mark Islands' tenth anniversary, Bear’s Den put out a special edition of the record last year.
Formats include a colour vinyl, limited edition double disc CD, double vinyl and as a box set, which features Kennedy's version of 'Above the Clouds of Pompeii' and 'Hard Life'.
Tickets for Amble and Bear's Den's gigs are on sale now and can be found here.
