Band Of Brothers
This fortnight, Limerick’s finest, The Rubberbandits take to the road.
The pair, who shot to fame with that great equine tribute, ‘Horse Outside’, released debut album Serious About Men last year to much acclaim. Their live performances are a thing to behold – expect much talk of yokes, the ‘Ra, horses and of course, good old-fashioned delinquency. Catch Blindboy Boat Club and Mr. Chrome in Galway’s Roisin Dubh (February 29) and Dublin’s Academy (March 1).
Also this fortnight, US king of mimicry Michael Winslow continues his series of Irish dates. The Police Academy star heads to the People’s Republic for a show at Cork Opera House on February 23.
Back to Dublin, where Calendar Girls returns to these shores for the last time. The story of a group of ordinary women who decide to don their birthday suits for a charity calendar runs in Grand Canal Theatre from February 27 – March 3.
David O’Doherty takes to the road this fortnight too. Catch the comedian and his wee keyboard in Dolan’s Warehouse (February 23), the Forum, Waterford (24) and Draiocht, Dublin (March 2).
Finally, Neil Delamere is at the Heritage Hotel (February 24, 25), Tommy Tiernan takes to Dolans’ stage in Limerick (March 3) and Dara Ó Briain heads to the TF Royal Theatre
(February 23).
