Awake Is The New Sleep

LA native Lee has been knocking around for a while now but this is his first major label release. Not quite fitting into the classic singer-songwriter mode he blends a kind of quirky pop-folk-country with all manner of unusual but complementary studio doodles. Highlights here include the Eels-like 'Catch My Disease' and the harmony-laden country rock of 'No Right Angles'. Guests include Rilo Kiley's Jenny Lewis (she's everywhere these days), Jason Faulkner and Har Mar Superstar.
