Indie singer-songwriter Arlo Parks has announced her new album, Ambiguous Desire, due for release on April 3.
The musician won the Mercury Music Prize in 2021 for her debut album, Collapsed in Sunbeams, and is also a two-time Grammy nominee.
"This record has desire at its centre," said Parks.
"Desire is a life force, it’s a wanting, a yearning, a momentum – we are all alive because there is something or someone we want – desire is an engine.
"But it is also mysterious, tangled, random, enlightening and HUMAN."
Alongside the album announcement, Parks shares her new single, '2SIDED'. The track discusses the hope that a lover feels as strongly for you as you do for them.
The song comes alongside a Molly Burdett-directed music video, which aims to show "connection through movement, emotion and rhythm".
“At its core '2SIDED' is about yearning and tension," said Parks "It’s about being struck by a bolt of desire and building up the courage to put language to that feeling, to make it real.”
