Animal Collective's Avey Tare shares a new song from his upcoming solo album

Avey Tare, aka Dave Portner, a founding member of indie-rock group Animal Collective, has announced that his new solo album, Cows on Hourglass Pond will be released on March 22.

According to his label, Domino, the album was recorded between January and March 2018, "on a Tascam 48 half-inch reel-to-reel tape machine."Cows on Hourglass Pond will be Portner's third solo album, following 2017's Eucalyptus and 2010's Down There. Aside from his work with Animal Collective, he has also released an album under the group name Avery Tare's Slasher Flicks, featuring former members of Dirty Projectors and Ponytail.

Along with the album announcement, Portner shared a video for the album's first single, 'Saturdays (Again)', directed by his sister, Abby Portner. In a post shared on Domino's website, Abby stated:

"For the Saturdays (Again) video I wanted to try and create what it would look like inside Avey Tare's new record cover, if you were to step inside and hang out with Dave and the cows in a surreal, colorful landscape. Since I did parts of the record art and paintings in the press photos, I wanted it to all be included inside this video."
