Alfi announce new album No More A' Roving

Following a run of Irish dates this month, Alfi have announced that their second album, No More A' Roving, is set to be released this Friday, September 4.

The trio – who draw inspiration from both Appalachian and Irish folk music – have been described by Hot Press as "a vital force in Ireland's ever-diversifying folk scene", and were previously nominated for Best Emerging Folk Artist at the RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Awards. They released their debut LP, Say Old Man, in 2023, with the album scoring 8.5 stars in Hot Press.

No More A' Roving – which was recorded with Alex Borwick – will include the track 'Jack of Diamonds', released as a single back in December. The album will also feature a cover of Pharis & Jason Romero's 'Lost Lula', and Pete St John's 'Dublin In The Rare Auld Times', as well as traditional and original tracks.

Alfi's Alannah Thornburgh released her acclaimed solo album Shapeshifter last year, with the project included among our top folk albums of 2025. All three members have performed with some of the leading lights of Irish music over the past few years, across multiple genres – with Fiachra Meek joining The Pogues on their latest tours of North America, Australia and New Zealand.
