Pop-rocker heroes go from strength to strength
The past few years have been something of a fairytale for former buskers Keywest. After famously trading the streets of Dublin for the stages of sold-out venues across Europe, they have gone from strength to strength artistically. These guys know how to write a really good song.
The good news is that the Irish chart-breakers look certain to add another successful chapter to their story with Ordinary Superhero. Set for a worldwide release after inking a deal with their new label Marshall Records, their fourth full-length outing is littered with excellent, radio-friendly material.
Featuring 10 tracks, the follow-up to last year's True North doesn't stray too far from their successful formula. And why would it? Better to focus on their strengths. Opening with the galloping, hook-filled 'Somebody To Love', recent single 'What Are You Waiting For?' - which has shades of The Calling - is sure to become a live favourite. 'Wear Your Love', meanwhile, boasts a Spanish guitar solo that Richie Sambora would sell his famous black hat for. Best of all is 'I'm Not Me Without You' - a marvellous widescreen ballad, given extra emotional weight by an appearance from Saturdays member Una Healy.
With plenty of their trademark pop-rock ballads to the fore, Ordinary Superhero should serve them well as they look to push on and conquer the global market. Here's to it.
