Alabama Shakes announce first new album in over a decade
The album is set for release on August 28.
Alabama Shakes have announced their first album in 11 years, I Must Be Dreaming, due for release on August 28 via Island Records.
The American rock-band have also shared details of new single ‘I Feel Hope Coming’, which is set for release on July 10.
The track follows 2025's ‘Another Life’ and 2026's ‘American Dream’, which marked Alabama Shakes’ first new music in a decade.
The trio, made up of Brittany Howard, Heath Fogg and Zac Cockrell, last released an album with 2015’s Sound & Color, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and won three Grammy Awards. Their debut album, Boys & Girls, arrived in 2012 and featured the breakout single ‘Hold On’.
Alabama Shakes went on hiatus in 2018, with Howard pursuing a solo career before the band reunited in 2025. They have continued as a three-piece since the departure of former drummer Steve Johnson, who was arrested on child abuse charges in 2021.
