Forget Instagram. The coolest new trend in photography actually dates back to the Victorian era, and Alex Sappienza, the head of operations at South William Studios is at the forefront of this trendy revival. The Analogue Studio is the only commercial 19th century photography studio in Ireland, specialising in ‘wet plate collodion and vintage portraiture’. The result is an incredibly unique, one-off portrait photograph on aluminium and glass that looks like a newly discovered family heirloom. Alex’s latest work includes a collaboration with American actor Mel Gibson, Bob Geldof, Roz Purcell, and U2 to name a few. This is the most certainly the ideal gift for the unconventional friend in your life that has everything.
