Sheriff YC Football Club appeal to public for much needed funds
The club is seeking funds to send its U9 and U13 teams to the Blackpool cup
Sheriff YC are hosting a Race Night at Lloyd's bar on Amien Street February 23 - the fundraiser is seeking to raise much needed funds to send Sheriff YC's U9 and U13 teams to the Blackpool Cup International Football Tournament.
The Blackpool Cup Tournament is organised by Sir Tom Finney FC and offers children of all social backgrounds and opportunities to play the English game. Over 350 teams take part annually making up 10,000 participants from 10+ countries.
Kicking off at 8pm, the Race Night promises to be a night jam packed with craic and action all in the name of supporting the vital work Sheriff YC do- work that has not proven to be easy in recent months. Sheriff YC saw their pitch completely destroyed by joy riders earlier this month which left the football club without a functioning pitch.

The football club is not the only youth club in North inner-city Dublin struggling with lack of pitches as Belvedere Football Club, EastWall, Bessborough FC and Marino AFC have also been victim to vandalism and misuse of pitches, with Dublin City Council slow to enact effective responses.
The inner city north football pitch situation has become so critical that Social Democrats TD Gary Gannon brought up the issue in the Dáil, while conceding in his speech that 'Frankly it should be a city council issue but in the absence of actions I have been forced to bring it to the chamber".

The Race Night at Lloyd's Bar on Amien Street on February 23 also has a host of sponsorship opportunities to support the club with packages allowing sponsors to take out ads in the club's race booklet or to sponsor a race. The packages are as follows:
