MMA star Richard Kiely to use 'The Silver Torc' for showdown with Michael "Venom" Page
MMA fans worldwide will listen to 'The Silver Torc', written by Wexford performer Ronan Furlong, when Richard Kiely takes to the octagon at the 3Arena next month.
MMA fans worldwide are set to enjoy the new single ‘The Silver Torc’ by Wexford writer-performer Ronan Furlong when Irish MMA hero Richard Kiely uses it as he walks out to meet his international opponent Michael “Venom” Page on September 27 in front of a frantic audience at Dublin’s 3 Arena.
As Kiely himself says, “as soon as the opening chords hit, this song will blow the roof off the 3 Arena. It’s an absolute belter of a tune.”
‘The Silver Torc’ is likely to be heard by millions when the bout is broadcast across the USA and Europe to the ever-growing MMA audience on such high-profile channels as Sky Sports, Virgin Media, Paramount and DAZN.
Furlong’s song is a stirring anthem and is the first single to be lifted from his third album Diotima’s Ascent to be released in September on the Thoroughbred Music label. Kiely, a long-standing fan of Furlong’s music, personally chose ‘The Silver Torc’ as his walk-out anthem for what will arguably be the most important bout in his career and possibly the biggest MMA contest in Ireland ever.
Furlong’s last album, Minerva’s Meddling, was voted one of the best albums of 2017 by Hot Press.
