Dave Zirin's documentary to be screened at Trinity College with Q&A

A screening, followed by Q&A, of American political sportswriter Dave Zirin's documentary Behind the Shield: The Power and Politics of the NFL will be held at Trinity College on Tuesday, September 16.
Zirin is the sports editor of the weekly political and culture magazine The Nation. He is the host of the Edge of Sports podcast and writer of a weekly column of the same name.
Additionally, he has written 11 books – most covering the intersection of politics and sports.
Along with his work for The Nation, Zirin previously write a column for SLAM Magazine and The Progressive.
Zirin, Jewish himself, has been outspoken for years about his support for a free Palestine.
Behind the Shield covers "the hidden politics of manhood, militarism, nationalism, and race in the NFL, America's most profitable and influential sports league," according to a synopsis.
The screening and Q&A will take place 6 p.m. at the Joly Theatre, Hamilton Building. There will be a €10 entry fee at the door.
