Boyzone and Peter O'Mahony Head Late Late Show Line-Up
Music, sport and science all feature in what promises to be an entertaining Late Late Show.
The Late Late show is back tonight at its usual slot of 9:35pm on RTÉ One. As well as a range of guests, there'll also be the opportunity to win a pair of tickets to next week's Late Late Toy Show, which is a good enough reason alone to tune in.
Joining host Ryan Tubridy on the couch tonight will be Boyzone, who ahead of their upcoming farewell tour will be returning to the Donnybrook studio where it all began in a dance-induced frenzy back in 1993.
There's no word on whether Ronan Keating, Shane Lynch, Keith Duffy and Mikey Graham will be recreating their now infamous moves, but they will be on hand to discuss their 25th anniversary as a group and the subsequent goodbye to follow.
Also heading the show will be Ireland and Munster rugby star Peter O'Mahony, who gave a man-of-the-match performance in Ireland's 16-9 victory over New Zealand that captured the country's attention last Saturday. The flanker will provide an insight into the team's historic win, as well as his own vital performance in it.
Ahead of his forthcoming tour which aims to make some of the more complex aspects of science accessible to all, Professor Brian Cox will be in the studio to explain what can be expected on the tour, as well as his own passion for the field and what made him want to go on the road with it.
On the entertainment side of things, impressionist specialist Mario Rosenstock of Gift Grub fame will be present to provide laughs, while The Stunning will be joined by the Irish Chamber Orchestra to perform a version of the band's ubiquitous hit 'Brewing Up a Storm' ahead of the release of the Féile Classical album.
On a more poignant note, Fr Tony Coote will talk about being diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease earlier this year, and will be accompanied by the consultant neurologist at Beaumont Hospital in Professor Orla Hardiman. The Family Carers Ireland CarePlus 'Carer of the Year' awards is also on the horizon, with some of the nominees for the noble accolade also in attendance.
