Equal parts restaurant, wine bar, club and contemporary art gallery, the reborn Bagots Hutton has managed to lure its old South William Street regulars over the Liffey with its well-executed Italian pastas, gourmet pizzas and meaty mains. The décor – intimate booths, vaulted ceiling, plush sofas, remarkable unisex toilets etc. etc. – has more of a Manhattan feel, with creative types flocking there after work and at the weekends when impressively coiffed hair is well and truly let down.
Best Dish: Shoulder of Lamb with Spring Greens, Burnt Shallot Puree & Fingerling Potatoes – €23
