Actor Kevin Spacey charged with 4 counts of sexual assault
He has since been dropped from House of Cards and removed from All the Money in the World following the accusations.
According to the UK's Crown Prosecution Service, actor Kevin Spacey has been charged with four counts of sexual offences, including sexual assault against three men.
The Oscar-winner was charged following a review by the Met Police after a series of complaints dating back to 1995.
As reported by Rosemary Ainslie, Head of the CPS Special Crime Division:"He has also been charged with causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent. The charges follow a review of the evidence gathered by the Metropolitan Police in its investigation."
In November 2017, London's Old Vic theatre said it had received 20 separate allegations of inappropriate conduct by Kevin Spacey from 20 men who came into contact with him at the theatre between 1995 and 2013.
Continuing to deny all accusations, the 62-year-old was dropped from the TV show House of Cards and removed from the movie All the Money in the World after light was shed on the misconduct.
Spacey is no longer living in the UK, so while the CPS has authorised the case against him, he will not be formally charged unless he returns to the country.
