Trailer released for <I>Bad Apples</I> starring Saoirse Ronan

The film is scheduled to hit Irish cinemas September 10.

The official trailer has been released for Bad Apples, the upcoming comedy-thriller film starring Irish actress Saoirse Ronan.

According to an official synopsis, the film is set in England and follows Maria (Ronan), a determined primary school teacher constantly disrupted by an unruly student, Danny (Eddie Waller). After receiving little support from her superiors, she takes action, setting off an unfortunate series of events.

The film was directed by Jonatan Etzlier, written by Jess O’Kane and stars Jacob Anderson, Rakie Ayola, Robert Emms, Sean Glider and Kerry Howard, alongside Ronan.

The soundtrack includes an original score by Chris Roe as well as classic tracks like ‘O-o-h Child’ by The Five Stairsteps and ‘Give it All You Got’ by Mark and Helen Johnson.

Based on Rasmus Andersson’s debut Swedish language novel, De Oönskade,the film received its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2025, before screening in Official Competition at the BFI London Film Festival.

The film marks Ronan’s 29th feature film and Etzlier’s first English-language movie.

It is scheduled to hit Irish cinemas September 10.
