Sharon Horgan and Jennifer Aniston among executive producers of Apple TV+'s adaptation of Jennette McCurdy’s I’m Glad My Mom Died
Jennifer Aniston will play the "overbearing, domineering mother" in the series, which draws from McCurdy’s experiences as a former child star.
Renowned Irish actor, writer, and director Sharon Horgan has been announced as an executive producer of Apple TV+'s upcoming dramedy series, I'm Glad My Mom Died. Based on former Nickelodeon star Jennette McCurdy's memoir of the same name, the 10-episode series will also star, and be executive produced by, Jennifer Aniston.
I’m Glad My Mom Died is described by Apple TV+ as "a heartbreaking and hilarious recounting of McCurdy’s struggles as a former child actor while dealing with her overbearing, domineering mother."
The series will centre on the relationship between an 18-year-old actress in a hit children's TV show, and her narcissistic mother, set to be played by Aniston.
It is written, executive produced and showrun by McCurdy and Ari Katcher. Other executive producers include Stacy Greenberg for Merman (the production company co-founded by Sharon Horgan); Dani Gorin, Tom Ackerley and Josey McNamara for LuckyChap; Jerrod Carmichael; and Erica Kay.
Apple TV+ previously collaborated with Horgan and Merman on the acclaimed series Bad Sisters, which won multiple IFTA and BAFTA Awards.
Originally published back in 2022, McCurdy’s memoir spent over 80 weeks on the New York Times Best Seller list.
