Paul Mescal and Jessie Buckley reunite for Benh Zeitlin film
The Hamnet co-stars will be working together again in Benh Zeitlin's Hold on to Your Angels
Paul Mescal and recent Oscar winner Jessie Buckley are set to star together again for Hold on to Your Angels, a new film from Beasts of the Southern Wild director Benh Zeitlin.
The film will go into production February next year, with Brad Pitt's company Plan B among the producers.
Hold on to Your Angels, set in Louisiana in the United States, "follows a hell-bound outlaw (Mescal) and a shepherd of lost souls (Buckley) who fall in love as their crumbling bayou paradise drags them under".
"Hold on to Your Angels is the most impossible love story I've ever witnessed. An outlaw romance for the end of America, set on the crumbling edge of South Louisiana", said Zeitlin.
Mescal and Buckley previously collaborated in Chloé Zhao's Hamnet, which was nominated for eight awards at the 98th Academy Awards. Buckley won the award for Best Actress, making history by becoming the first Irish woman to win in that category.
Buckley is currently filming Alice Rohrwacher's Three Incestuous Sisters, alongside Dakota Johnson, Josh O'Connor, and Isabella Rossellini. Although seen in Maggie Gyllenhaal's The Bride! earlier this year, this is her first post-Oscar role. Mescal is currently filming the Beatles biopics, in which he plays Paul McCartney.
