New music series Imelda May: Amhráin na nGael coming to RTÉ
The new Irish version of the popular reality TV series The Traitors is set to air next weekend
RTÉ have announced their upcoming season of content releasing across RTÉ One, RTÉ2 and the RTÉ Player, taking viewers from Autumn 2025 to Spring 2026.
Imelda May will be hosting a new music series, Amhráin na NGael, exploring the history behind the Gaeltacht songs and traditions as well as a boat load of new TV.
Some of the featuring content kicking off will be the Irish version of popular reality show The Traitors, airing next weekend, hosted by Siobhán McSweeney and filmed at Slane Castle.
RTÉ is promising this new slate of homegrown Irish dramas to be better than ever. The lineup will see Danielle Galligan, Louisa Harland, Caroline Menton, Stefanie Preissner, Máiréad Tyers, Aidan Quinn and Carrie Crowley star in The Walsh Sisters, adapted from Marian Keyes' novels Rachel's Holiday and Anybody Out There. Other new series include comedy-drama These Sacred Vows and Tall Tales & Murder created by Stuart Carolan and Chris Addison.
A new documentary, The Ryanair Story, will follow behind-the-scenes at one of the world’s most successful airlines.
Amongst the returners, RTÉ Investigates alongside a 're-vamped' Ireland's Fittest Family, cult drama series The Dry will also be coming back to the national broadcaster with beloved fan favourites like The Late Late Toy Show, this Christmas and The Tommy Tiernan Show.
"It features the very best Irish creative talent both on screen and behind the scenes from an unprecedented amount of Irish drama, to brand-new Irish entertainment, documentaries and factual programming and sporting moments for the nation to come together," said Director of Video, Steve Carson.
Coverage of the Women's Rugby World Cup as well as the Presidential Election is promised in the upcoming programming, that aims to reflect the needs of modern Ireland.
