Netflix Announce Cast of New Series Elite
The series is being described as a cross between Big Little Lies and Gossip Girl.
Fans of Money Heist can rejoice with the news that stars María Pedraza, Miguel Herrán & Jaime Lorente will be reunited in new series Elite.
The show is set in the best and most exclusive school in Spain, where the elite send their children to study. Three working class kids are admitted there after their school collapsed and the local council divvied up the students between other schools in the area.
The plot synopsis teases: "They thought that they'd lucked out...but maybe they weren't so lucky after all." The show features a murder with Netflix comparing it to both Gossip Girl and Big Little Lies.
The cast also features Itzan Escamilla from hit series Cable Girls and The Ministry of Time, along with Danna Paola (Dare to Dream), currently amongst Mexico’s most popular actresses & singers.
The show is Netflix’s second Spanish Original series and will be directed by Ramón Salazar, who helmed this year's critically acclaimed drama Sunday's Illness.
The first season will consist of 8 episodes and will be entirely shot in 4K.
The show will premiere in 2019.
