Gal Gadot joins Snow White live-action remake as the Evil Queen
Wonder Woman's Gal Gadot joins the cast of the latest Disney classic to get a live-action adaptation.
Hollywood star Gal Gadot is the latest addition to the new Disney live-action remake Snow White, taking on the iconic role of the Evil Queen.
Rachel Zegler, who will be making her silver screen debut in the upcoming West Side Story, was cast as the title character back in June. 500 Days of Summer's Marc Webb is set to direct the adaptation.
"Well, first of all, I'm excited about the fact that this is, like, an icon character. I'm excited to create an iconic villain character in my own voice," Gadot said while speaking to Entertainment Tonight. "I'm very, very, very excited and looking forward to playing the Evil Queen. I cannot wait to get into her shoes and stand in front of the mirror."
The Israeli actress first garnered international fame with her role as Giselle in the Fast and Furious franchise. In recent years, she cemented herself as one of Hollywood's biggest stars in her role as DC's Wonder Woman.
The film is the latest in a slew of live-action adaptations by Disney, with classics such as The Lion King, Aladdin, and Mulan having received the treatment in the past few years. Other remakes currently in the works include Pinocchio with Tom Hanks and The Little Mermaid starring Halle Bailey
The original Snow White And The Seven Dwarves holds a special place in the company's history, as it was the first film the animator released back in 1937.
