Disney+ drafts Young Offenders creator Peter Foott for supernatural comedy show
The project appears to be based around trick or treaters who mysteriously turn into their Halloween characters.
Disney has signed on Young Offenders creator Peter Foott to scribe a comedy for its online streaming service Disney+.
The Hollywood Reporter has claimed that the 43-year-old will rewrite a script by Tyler Burton Smith, the writer behind 2019's Child's Play.
Spooked is described as a "Halloween supernatural comedy" produced by Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich.
Cork native Foott first rose to fame after directing the Rubberbandits’ legendary Horse Outside video, which currently has over 20 million views on YouTube.
The Young Offenders feature film came next, which focused on two hapless Cork city teenagers, Conor (played by Alex Murphy) and Jock (played Chris Walley).
The now-infamous TV series was a result of the feature film's success, and is currently broadcasting its third season on Friday nights on RTÉ One.
Foott's wife, Hilary Rose, plays Conor’s mother, Mairéad MacSweeney.
The first episode of the third season aired recently and saw Jock and Conor involved in a heist with baby Star on board adding to the mayhem.
