Daniel Radcliffe to become a father confirming news of Erin Darke’s pregnancy
The two actors have been dating for a decade after meeting on the set of 2013's Kill Your Darlings.
The news has been announced that Daniel Radcliffe, and long-time girlfriend, Erin Darke are expecting their first child. Reporting to People, a representative for Radcliffe confirmed the couple's happy news on Saturday 25th March.
The two actors have been together for a decade after meeting on set of Kill Your Darlings. Radcliffe and Darke starred alongside each other where the two played love interests in the 2013 movie.
In an interview with The Independent last year, the 33-year-old said he was “really happy” with Darke, stating, “I’ve got a really nice life.” “I’ve been with my girlfriend for a decade pretty much. We’re really happy.”
Although he and his girlfriend have worked together on several movies and TV shows, the former Harry Potter star said that they don't want to do it “all the time”, adding however that if an opportunity to write something arose that it would be “cool” to do so together in the future.
Radcliffe’s childhood fame has undoubtedly informed him about his upcoming fatherhood, having previously stated that his own experience will influence how he chooses to parent future children.
Speaking to Newsweek last year, Radcliffe told the publication, I want my kids, if and when they exist… I would love them to be around film sets.”
“A dream would be for them to come onto a film set and be like, ‘God, you know, I’d love to be in the art department. I’d love to be something in the crew’. Some part of this, but not from that.”
He also explained that he “wouldn’t want fame for my kid”, stating, “Film sets are wonderful places. I think a lot of the time it can be wonderful for kids. But it’s really the fame side of it that should be avoided at all costs,” he continued.
Having previously struggled with alcohol addiction, the Weird Al Yankovic star has been sober since 2010, telling Off Camera in 2019 that he would get “very drunk” to “forget the fact that you’re being watched”.
