What's The Worst That Could Happen
You have a movie which is like Tom And Jerry but without the complexity
Playing a thief for what must be the zillionth time in his refreshingly quality free career, What’s The Worst… casts the alleged comedian Martin Lawrence as Kevin Caffrey, a luckless burglar who attempts to rob a swish beach-house only to be discovered by the billionaire owner Danny DeVito. Once the police arrive on the scene, a ludicrous whim seizes DeVito and he declares that Kevin’s lucky ring is his own. Given that the item is of sentimental value, Kevin swears to get his ring back and thus begins a game of childish one-upmanship between thief and billionaire with hilarious consequences. Or not actually.
This is exactly the kind of fare we’ve come to know and fear from Lawrence, whose previous outings include Blue Streak and Big Momma’s House. Add to this the director of The Out-of-Towners and George Of The Jungle and you have a movie which is like Tom And Jerry but without the complexity.
