WATCH: Trailer for Netflix's Ghoul from Makers of Get Out and Insidious
Ghoul is the first Indian original horror series
Yesterday, Netflix revealed some information about their upcoming three-part series Ghoul from Blumhouse, the studio behind some of the most acclaimed chillers of recent years.
Now, a trailer has arrived for the Indian three-parter, revealing more about the series plot.
Radhika Apte (who can be currently seen in Netflix's other Indian series Sacred Games) stars as a military officer who made a name for herself turning her father to the authorities after 'seditious literature' is found in his possession.
Following this, she is a given a new task, get a confession from a mysterious prisoner who keeps repeating the words: "Reveal their guilt. Eat their flesh."
Gradually, the prisoner turns the tables on his interrogators, exposing their most shameful secrets. The logline for the series states: "You can fight the demons of this world but what about the ones that aren't?"
This trailer looks promising, implying the show will creep out horror fans. It's interesting to see chillers from non-Western countries as they often deal with ideas and themes new to viewers from this side of the world.
While Ghoul looks like it will fit in with Blumhouse's staple of horror nicely, the plot regarding censorship and government/military control may give audiences something new.
The series is out in Ireland August 24, 2018
