WATCH: Trailer for An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power
Environmental documentary tackles the problem of climate change (again!).
An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power is the follow-up to the 2006 environmental film The Inconvenient Truth, fronted by former U.S. Vice-President, Al Gore. The sequel will again target popular audiences to highlight the current status of global climate change and the energy revolution.
Producer T Bone Burnett and Gore found a collaborator in One Republic’s Ryan Tedder who wrote the title song for the film, ‘Truth to Power.’ Tedder wrote the song from the perspective of Earth. He describes the origins of his inspiration, stating, “I wanted to take a break from writing songs about myself. So I took the point-of-view of mother earth turning the tables on those who’d betray her.”
The film comes at a particularly appropriate time, following Trump’s recent decision to bow out of the Paris Agreement — one of only three countries in the world (Nicaragua, Syria, USA) refusing to comply with efforts to limit global temperature increases.
