Watch: James Franco stars as the man behind the "worst movie ever made"
A teaser for The Disaster Artist was released via Twitter today.
The first teaser from James Franco’s upcoming film The Disaster Artist has been released. Franco stars as Tommy Wiseau — the man behind the “worst movie ever made” and cult favourite, The Room.
The film is based off a book written by actor Greg Sestero about the chaotic filming and production of the The Room. Sestero is played by Franco’s younger brother, Dave. Seth Rogen also joins the cast as the frustrated script supervisor for The Room. Bryan Cranston, Alison Brie, Zac Efron and Kate Upton also make cameos in the comedic film-within-a-film.
The “work in progress” cut of The Disaster Artist was revealed at the SXSW film festival this year, but the final version will be out for an initial release of December 8, and hopefully soon after in Ireland.
