U2 fan launches campaign to help 'One' reach one billion views on YouTube
Fans hope to reach the one billion landmark by Achtung Baby's 30th anniversary in 2021.
U2 fan Valerie (known on Twitter as @U2Partygirl5) has launched a new campaign to help the band become the next Irish act to hit the one billion views landmark on YouTube, after The Cranberries' success with 'Zombie' in April. As part of her #OneToABillion campaign, Valerie is encouraging fellow U2 fans to bring 'One' to the one billion goal by the 30th anniversary of Achtung Baby, on November 18, 2021.
"I knew that the Phil Joanou video for 'One' had around 93 million views, so that seemed the best option," she tells Hot Press. "It's a big ask, but U2 fans are passionate and generous. It would be wonderful for Bono, The Edge, Adam and Larry if we could do it. Our way of saying thanks for the music and everything else."
The video for 'One' currently has over 93.9 million views on YouTube – so there's less than 906,100,000 more views needed to bring it to its goal. Help bring #OneToABillion by watching below:
