Stephen Bishop (aka St. Bishop) hails from County Monaghan, and has blazed an R&B/pop trail since emerging back in 2017.
Eclectic electro-pop artist St. Bishop has shared his brand new single in the form of break up anthem 'Alone.'
The track is the second cut from his eagerly-awaited upcoming EP, which is slated to arrive next year. Produced by Alex O'Keeffe and mixed and mastered by Stephen Lovatt, 'Alone' is hones in on empowerment, reflection and exploration.
"I wrote 'Alone' about finding self-love during the aftermath of a break-up," St. Bishop explains. "Through writing this song I recognised the love and care that I could provide for myself."
"I then knew I no longer needed to outsource those needs to romantic and at times, unhealthy relationships," he adds. "I had the power to satisfy my own desires and that is exactly what I started doing. I put myself first, asked myself the hard questions I needed to ask and eventually moved on from the situation, learning a great deal about myself in the process."
Earlier this year, St. Bishop unveiled previous pop singles 'Talking To You' and 'Close.' His gleaming R&B pop sound was inspired by acts such as KAYTRANADA, NAO and Will Heard. St. Bishop’s music is filled with bold, unapologetic statements made along a journey of self-exploration. Each affirmation coming with the charm and the sass of a young gay man who not only embraces, but adores his queer-ness.
The creative blends genres as freely as he delves into issues of sexuality, gender identity and radical self-acceptance. Writing in an autobiographical style, he channels his struggles into his music, and through this process he continues to counsel himself and explore his identity.
