Track of the Day: Somebody's Child, 'Make You Alright'
Hot Press has the pleasure of being able to exclusively share the new track from Dublin artist Somebody's Child.
Similar in his talents to young indie-rock innovative Declan McKenna, Somebody's Child's debut single 'Make You Alright' marks an exciting new voice in Irish music.
According to the multi-instrumentalist himself, 'Make you Alright' brings an end to a project which began in 2017 when the initial demo was recorded.
"It was one of the songs a friend and I recorded in my bedroom," says the artist. "We put the 4 track demo up online and passed some on to friends. It went on to create a buzz in music circles and a load of my mates that heard it kept telling me it should be recorded in a proper studio".
Citing Arctic Monkeys, Amy Winehouse, MGMT and The National as inspiration, Somebody's Child explores the different styles and elements of pop music while
lyrically encapsulating what it means to be a contemporary songwriter. Find out more about him here and listen to 'Make You Alright' below:
