Tony Stark to be succeeded by Riri Williams in Marvel Universe
Williams will take on the Iron Man persona after the events of Civil War II.
Move over, Tony Stark: a new character will take over the Iron Man mantle.
Riri Williams, who enrolled at M.I.T. at just fifteen, will succeed Stark after the comic book series Civil War II concludes. The character catches Stark's attention after she constructs an Iron Man suit in her dorm room. A black woman, the character brings greater diversity to the Marvel Universe.
Marvel writer Brian Michael Bendis assures fans that the announcement does not spoil the end of Civil War II.
No word as of yet if Williams will also be included in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
