Tommy Tiernan announces 'World Tour of Counties' for new stand-up show

Tommy Tiernan has announced he will begin a ‘World Tour of Counties’ across Ireland from October to December for his new stand-up show.

He will start with six shows in Westmeath, six in Leitrim, then head to Limerick before going up to Mayo and back to Galway.

“No venue too big or too small, from fancy arts centres to pubs with no lager and from hotel function rooms to local town halls,” read an Instagram post announcing the tour.

Tiernan was named Irish Comedian of the Year for a second year by the Hot Press Readers’ Poll for 2026.

He is set to headline Kavanagh Weekend in Monaghan on September 26, which will see him in conversation with Anne Waldman, Adrian Dunbar and Nick Roth.

The comedian also recently wrapped up a sold-out run starring as ‘Ray’ in the musical drama The House Must Win, which showed through spring in Dún Laoghaire and Cork.

In February, he was part of the lineup for Hot Press' 'History in the Making: The Concert' at 3Arena.

He also has a comedy chat series on RTÉ Player called The Tommy Tiernan Show which he started in 2017. The premise of the show is that Tiernan and the audience do not know who the featured guest will be until they appear. The show has seen guests the likes of former President Michael D. Higgins, Hozier, Dermot Kennedy, Roy Keane and more.

Tickets for the ‘World Tours of Counties’ shows will go on sale Thursday, July 30 at 10 am here.
