This pleasing supernatural thriller sees Sarah Michelle Gellar play a trucking firm sales-rep lured back to her native Texas by the promise of a big sale. Once there, she starts having flashbacks to the era of her youth. Disconcertingly however, these seemingly repressed memories are not of her own life. Is it somehow connected to a childhood car accident she experienced with dad Sam Shepard? Or the handsome stranger (Peter O’Brien) she keeps seeing? Or the vile redneck (JC MacKenzie) lurking around? Director Kapadia joins all the dots together in a satisfactory fashion. You may have seen it all before but the dark mood and Ms Gellar’s otherworldly central performance keep you onside.
