KEEPAPPY, a new Irish app, was created to start a conversation around mental health. Aimée-Louise Carton, the app’s founder, said she created this mental wellness app as a result of her own experience of PTSD following a sexual assault. The app’s features include mood tracking, sleep tracking and goal setting. An in-built game brings a fun into the delicate area of mental health. Check it out at keepappy.com.
Retailers find themselves in a David and Goliath situation when faced with the might of online stores. But Irish start-up POINTY hopes to change all that. The app, founded by Mark Cummins, reveals physical stores in your locale that sell particular niche items. Google thought the idea was a winner and recently bought Pointy for a reported €144m.
GET THE SHIFTS, an app for workers in the hospitality business, could make the unpleasant task of finding work a little easier. The app, created by Co Clare entrepreneur Hannah Wrixon, allows clients to browse and book workers for bars, restaurants, stadiums, festivals and other businesses. Get The Shifts currently has space for 2000 flexible workers.
