PREMIERE: Irish band Clay Pigeon Shooting shares their hard-hitting second single 'i win' ahead of their The Grand Social show

The Dublin-native Clay Pigeon Shooting are already making waves and their second single only drops on all streaming platforms this Friday.

Breaking out onto the scene in 2022 with their debut song 'vincent van pox,' Clay Pigeon Shooting introduced a distinctive sonic presence with their killer, winding guitar lines and corrosive vocals to the Irish music scene, garnering international attention with airtime on Amazing Radio and The Yellow Button Radio.

Since, the Irish band has been performing in live shows, supporting the London-based, post-punk Deep Tan in a series of live shows across Ireland over the passed few months. They've also sold out The Workman's Club and Whelan's mainstage.

Now, Clay Pigeon Shooting has have their own headline show at the Grand Social in Dublin this Saturday, March 25th. The show will feature Yard and Affection to Rent as support acts.

As for their second single, 'i win' drops all streaming platforms this Friday, March 24th. Presenting a "marked aural maturity," the track has a hard-hitting, driving beat groove that explores the downward spiral of Irish binge-drinking culture with a tongue-in-cheek ironic humour.

"My pint arrives, and I take a sip / Guinney golf has proved me a champ, I win!"

Produced in Drogheda’s Jejune Studios by Daniel De Burca, the track is a deeply personal journey laced with aggressive undertones and intense instrumentals. Amid the drunken, battlefield grit of the song, however, is a delicate and celestial bridge and revolutionary final chorus.

Also set to play Glastonbury Festival this year, Clay Pigeon Shooting was described by UK freelance journalist Cai Trefor as "Ireland's next big thing" in the festival's longlist announcement.

“I can’t imagine a room they play in that doesn’t get turned upside down by their frenzied sound. This is dark guitar music of stunning pedigree."
