Pilgrimage to hit Irish theatres 14 July
Dun Laoghaire director's film comes to Dublin
Upcoming Irish action-thriller Pilgrimage will be released in cinemas on 14 July. The thrilling tale of faith and fear follows a group of 13th century monks as they take an (aptly named) pilgrimage to take a sacred relic to Rome, but find themselves facing a much more dangerous path than anticipated through the Irish landscape.
Pilgrimage will have its Irish premiere at the Galway Film Fleadh on 13 July and will be released in Irish cinemas the following day. The film was shot on location on the West Coast of Ireland and in Belgium, and was developed with support from the Irish Film Board. Stars include Tom Holland, Jon Bernthal and Richard Armitage.
Director Brendan Muldowney, a graduate of Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art and Design, commented on the upcoming release, saying, “I’m absolutely thrilled to have Element Pictures Distribution releasing Pilgrimage in Ireland.”
