Gardaí appeal for witnesses after body pulled from Royal Canal in Dublin
The scene remains cordoned off by Gardaí.
A man's body was pulled from the water of the Royal Canal in Dublin yesterday afternoon as an investigation into the death has been launched.
The body was discovered near Ballybough Bridge in the Croke Park area on Sunday, and taken to the city morgue in Whitehall where a postmortem is due to take place.
Gardaí have said that they are investigating "all the circumstances" surrounding the discovery of the body, and have appealed for witnesses.
A garda spokesperson said that Mountjoy gardaí are encouraging anyone who has seen "anything unusual in the area or can assist them" to get in touch.
