The Gaiety Theatre to host Dublin premiere of the Miami Showband Story
Written by Marie Jones and Martin Lynch
The Miami Showband Story, a new production written by Marie Jones (Stones In His Pockets) and Martin Lynch (Dancing Shoes – The George Best Story), will host its Dublin premiere at the Gaiety Theatre this September 2019.
The story will revisit Ireland in the 1960’s in the company of the legendary Miami Showband and all their fantastic hits.
Even if you’re too young to remember the 60’s and 70’s, this is a show for everyone. Told through the eyes of two best friends and Miami songwriters, Fran O‘Toole and Des Lee, The Miami weaves us through the amazing roller coaster story of the iconic showband. The Miami will take you through the joyous dancehall days of the 1960’s and “Spit On Me Dickie” to the tragedy in 1975.
The Miami Showband Story will play at the Gaiety Theatre from September 16-21, 2019 with tickets going on sale this Tuesday February 12, 2019. Tickets start from €20 including booking fee.
