Former London gangster Dave Courtney passes away aged 64
Although his death is reported to be a suicide, the Metropolitan Police have said his death is currently being treated as unexpected and is under investigation.
The former London gangster turned actor and author, Dave Courtney, passed away in his home in Plumstead, South East London on Sunday (October 22).
Courtney posted a video only three months ago explaining how he wanted to take his own life. In the video he apologises for "taking the easy way out" but confesses that he was "hurting" and "disguising a lot of pain." He did, however, celebrate "the wicked life [he] had."
His family paid tribute him and his “incredible, colourful, rock ‘n’ roll life”. They explained how he had experienced the “pain of both cancer and arthritis in his later years”.
They took to instagram to announce his passing: “On October 22 2023, Dave made the decision to ‘stop the ride’.
