Fontaines D.C. add second Ulster Hall Belfast show due to demand
Fontaines D.C. will play Ulster Hall Belfast again on Thursday, 8th December 2022.
Fontaines D.C. have added a second headline show at Ulster Hall Belfast to their Irish tour due to phenomenal demand.
This show will be Thursday, 8th December 2022 following their December 7th date in Belfast. The Dublin post-punk band's anticipated third album Skinty Fia is out on April 22nd via Partisan Records, and the band have just added a run of UK and Ireland shows to their already hefty world tour schedule to close out the year.
Fontaines will play a second and third headline show at Vicar Street from November 30th to December 2nd.
The post-punk band will also play Leisureland, Galway (December 3); Live At The Big Top, Limerick (5); Millennium Forum, Derry (6); and Ulster Hall, Belfast (7) - plus Iveagh Gardens this July and Electric Picnic in September.
In Fontaines D.C.'s cover story interview in the new issue of Hot Press, Grian reflects further on the inspiration behind the album.
"A large part of what Skinty Fia is about is the way Irishness becomes exaggerated and embellished when we’re abroad," he says. "And how whether it’s in parts of London, Boston or Vancouver, we still cling together for various reasons including the discomfort of being ‘othered’, which I’ve been feeling. It’s fertile soil for creativity."
