Culture Night celebrations at Tower Records
For the third year running, Tower Records on Dawson Street, Dublin, will play host to an evening of diverse music events to celebrate Culture Night, which takes place next Friday on September 16.
At 6pm, Black Bank Folk will return to Tower Records with their folk musings. First playing on Dawson Street back in April as part of Record Store Day, they thrilled the audience with tracks from their brilliant debut album, Rising. The album delves into the human stories of the 1916 Rising. It explores themes of suppression, love, bravery, disillusionment and the realisations of shifting realities for all those affected by the fight. On Culture Night, Black Bank Folk return to the Tower stage to perform songs from their critically acclaimed record.
At 6.45pm, the enigmatic Booka Brass Band will take to the stage for their first in-store performance at Tower Records. To add to the excitement, they will release their highly anticipated debut album Chilled Milk at the venue on Culture Night. This New Orleans style eight- piece band have previously brought the party to Glastonbury, Electric Picnic, Other Voices and Body & Soul and are now carrying their infectious buzz to Dawson Street.
All events are free and all performances in Tower Records are all ages
